Who we are

This website is operated by hifi Ventures Ltd. (“hifi”, “we”, “us” or “our”), 369 Terminal Ave, 6th floor, Vancouver, BC V6A 4C4. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information through this website and related communications, in accordance with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where applicable, Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Information we collect

We collect only the personal information needed for the purposes below:

  • Information you provide: when you use our contact form, we collect the subject of your enquiry, your name, email address, organization and message. If you email us or introduce yourself for a career opportunity, we collect the information you choose to send, such as your contact details, résumé and background.

  • Technical information: when you visit the Site, our hosting provider may automatically log standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited and the date and time of access. This is used for security and to keep the Site working.

Please do not send sensitive personal information (such as health or financial account details) through the Site.

How we use it

We use personal information to:

  • respond to your enquiry and route it to the right member of our team

  • evaluate and discuss potential sites, projects, partnerships, capacity requirements or investment opportunities

  • consider you for current or future roles, if you contacted us about careers

  • operate, secure and improve the Site

  • comply with legal and regulatory obligations

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.

Consent

By submitting information through the Site or emailing us, you consent to its collection, use and disclosure as described in this policy. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions, by contacting us. Withdrawing consent may limit our ability to respond to or continue discussions with you.

Cookies and analytics

The Site uses only cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for it to function. We do not currently use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. You can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies, though some parts of the Site may not work as intended.

Sharing

We may share personal information with:

  • Service providers who help us operate our business, such as website hosting, email and form-processing providers. They may use the information only to provide services to us and must protect it.

  • Professional advisors such as lawyers and accountants, where needed.

  • Prospective partners or counterparties, only where you have asked us to or agreed that we may (for example, introducing your site to a potential project partner).

  • Authorities, where required by law or to protect our rights.

  • A successor entity, in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition or sale of all or part of our business, subject to confidentiality obligations.

Retention and storage

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above or as required by law. Enquiries that do not lead to an ongoing relationship are generally deleted within 24 months. Information connected to an active project, agreement or employment is kept for the life of that relationship and any required period afterwards.

Your information is stored in Canada and may also be stored or processed by our service providers in other countries, including the United States. Information held outside Canada is subject to the laws of that jurisdiction and may be accessed by its authorities.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft and unauthorized access, use or disclosure. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or withdraw your consent to its use. To make a request, contact our privacy contact below. We will respond within the time required by law (generally 30 days) and may need to verify your identity first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
